GICC students have proved their mettle in diverse areas, including performing arts, fine arts and sports. They have emerged winners in various cultural and sporting competitions held across Singapore.
GICC students participated in the Bharatanatyam dance competition organised by Tampines CC, Singapore on October 27, 2012. Four GICC students won prizes in the competition.
Senior category: Akshara Maran – 2nd prize and Vaishalee Rajaraman – 3rd prize
Junior category: Simrita Agrawal – 1st prize and Subiksha Ganesan – 3rd prize
GICC takes pride in announcing the prize winners of the Bharatanatyam Dance competition, Bharatham 2012, organised by the Toa Payoh West. Seventeen GICC students qualified to attend the Bharatham 2012 auditions. Out of 17 students, four qualified for the finals held on April 16, 2012 at Toa Payoh West CC.
Adithi Bhat bagged the 4th place and Subikha Ganesan received a consolation prize in the junior category. Ankitha Rajaram bagged the 3rd place and Akshara Maran bagged the 4th place in the senior category.
Arangetram is the debut on-stage performance of a classical art student, after undertaking years of training. GICC student, Akshara Maran completed her Bharatanatyam Arangetram in February 2013.
The GICC U-11 team won the Howzat Cricket Championship held by Howzat Youth Cricket, beating NPS International by 7 wickets and winning the Gold medal.
Deep Shah was declared the Best Sportsman, while Ratik Bhatnagar was awarded the Most Improved Player. Some of the top performers from the tournament included Pratik Bhatnagar, Deep Shah, Rishabh Jain, Kartik Shah, Keyur Gongulur, Pramesh Singhavi, Rohan Rajesh, Pranav Sudershan and Saket M.
The U-12 team won the ACSIS Cricket Championship beating Tanglin Trust School by 29 runs and winning the Gold medal. Top performers in the tournament included M N Akhil, Saket MS, Anirudh H C, Adit Khanna, Rishab Jain, Rishabh Tirupati, Ratik Bhatnagar, Sagar Murlidhar, Mukund Raja, Pramesh Singavi, Pranav Sudershan, Hrishikesh Anand and Rohit Ponkshe.
GICC cricket team participated in U-10 Kwik Cricket Tournament in August 2012, which was organised by Singapore Cricket Club, Padang. GIIS warriors Team secured the runner-up position with a Silver medal.
GICC players Rahul Parthasarthy, Rishab Jain, Pranav Sudhershan and Sriman received 'Players of the Match' award in Howzat Cricket Tournament.
The GICC U-9 Boys Soccer team participated in the ACSIS Soccer Tournament, and emerged as second runners-up winning the Bronze medal.
